The NearAway Project is committed to protecting the privacy of all participants in the 2026 NearAway Online Talent Quest. Personal details collected through the Entry & Consent Form — including names, ages, contact information, and video submissions — are used only for administering the Talent Quest.
We use this information to:

Disclaimer
By submitting an entry, participants acknowledge that performances are voluntary and created at their own discretion. The NearAway Project is not responsible for technical issues, equipment failures, or transfer problems that may affect submission or judging.
The Terms & Conditions also note: “The NearAway Project reserves the right to reject entries that breach copyright, contain inappropriate content, or do not meet the Terms & Conditions.”
Participation does not grant ownership of any NearAway™ intellectual property. Entrants may share their own performance of the material, but the underlying script, score, characters, and world remain the property of The NearAway™ Project.
Liability is limited except where it cannot be excluded under Australian law.
1. Eligibility
The Talent Quest welcomes performers of all ages and backgrounds — from schools, community theatre, drama and dance groups, choirs, bands, orchestras, and creative institutions across Australia. Entrants under 16 simply need consent from a parent, guardian, or group leader.
2. Entry Requirements
You’re free to submit more than one performance, whether solo or as part of a group. All entries must feature scenes or songs from the NearAway Musical, performed in your own unique way. AI‑generated performers aren’t allowed, but creative tools like FX and greenscreen are welcome.
3. Submission Guidelines
Keep your video under 10 minutes, family‑friendly, and in MP4, MOV, WMV, or AVI format. By submitting, you confirm that everyone appearing in the video has given permission to be included.
4. Judging & Awards
A panel of NearAway‑selected judges will celebrate performances that show heart, creativity, emotional connection, and clarity. Production value isn’t what we’re measuring — it’s your expression, your storytelling, your spark.
5. Prizes & Recognition
Four major prizes are on offer, including a $1000 First Prize. Every participant receives a Certificate of Participation and a NearAway wristband — a small symbol of support for emotional wellbeing and creative courage.
6. Usage of Entries
By entering, you give the NearAway Project permission to share your performance (or excerpts) on our website, social channels, and promotional platforms. Your creative interpretation is yours to share, while the underlying NearAway™ story and music remain protected IP.
7. Conduct & Fair Play
We ask all entrants to honour copyright, identity, and inclusivity guidelines. Entries must be based on official NearAway resources, and we may decline submissions that don’t align with our values or the competition rules.
8. Submission Deadline
Entries close 11.59pm AEST, Tuesday 30 June 2026. Submit your video via any FTP link (Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc.) along with your signed Entry & Consent Form to hello@nearawayproject.com.
9. Privacy Statement
We collect only the information needed to run the Talent Quest — such as names, ages, contact details, and your video submission — and we keep it safe. Your details are never sold or shared, and only authorised NearAway personnel can access them.
10. Disclaimer
Participation is voluntary, and while we do our best to support a smooth experience, we can’t take responsibility for technical issues or equipment problems. Submitting an entry doesn’t grant ownership of NearAway™ intellectual property.
11. Group Entry Requirements
Teachers, directors, administrators, and parents may sign on behalf of their group. Just include a list of all participants when submitting your entry.
